how to clean the wax out of your candle jar

Preparation

-Need: Boiling water, candle jar to clean out and a sink (soap & water)

-Make sure candle jar is on heat and water resistant surface for this process

Step 1: Bring water to a boil

Step 2: Carefully pour the boiling water into the candle jar

Step 3: Let the water sit in the jar until it has cooled (2-3 hours is the recommended time)

Step 4: At this point, the wax has resolidified at the top and the water has cooled. Carefully remove as much of the wax as posssible and dispose of it in the garbage, NOT the sink. Pour the water in the sink.

-Note: It is best not to touch the jar containing hot water until the wax and water have cooled. If you must move the jar, please use a towel or oven mitt to protect yourself

Step 5: Thoroughly wash jar with soap and water or put in the dishwasher (lid handwash only)

-Note: If using it for food purposes, it is reommended to wash the jar and lid several times before use
